What we do, and what we do not
invent.sg is a powerful tool that does real work on your invention. It is not a law firm, and it cannot promise an outcome only a patent office can decide. Here is what we do to help, the things we cannot guarantee, and how our terms work. These points are part of our Terms of Service and disclosures.
What we do to help
We take you from a raw idea to a filing-ready package through the FORGE method, with a clear next step at every stage.
We run a preliminary and a comprehensive patent search across the patent landscape and score what we find.
We draft the application and claims, run a mock examination against them, and strengthen the weak points.
Every draft ships with a plain-English reading, so you understand exactly what you are filing.
We assemble a binder you can file yourself through the IPOS Digital Hub, or hand to a patent attorney or agent.
Answers are grounded in your project's own cited research, so you can always see the basis for them.
What we cannot promise
These are real, and they matter. Read them before you rely on any output.
Only a patent office decides. A strong application improves your chances; it does not assure a grant.
Application, filing, and submission fees are yours to pay to IPOS.
Our search is thorough but cannot cover everything ever made public. We cannot guarantee that no relevant prior art exists.
We cannot guarantee that your invention or application is new, novel, or non-obvious.
Software patenting is out of scope. Many offices limit it, and it is not what invent.sg is built for.
We cannot verify or vouch for scientific claims, data, or results in your invention.
We do not guarantee that our state-of-the-art, market, or competitive assessments are accurate or complete. Treat them as informed input, not the final word.
Your acceptance and our liability
Acceptance of our Terms of Service and disclosures is a step when you create an account, and again when you upgrade a project.
Our total liability to you is limited to the funds you have paid us. We are not liable for any other damages.
IPOS does not require a patent attorney or agent, and invent.sg prepares you to file yourself. For prosecution and legal advice, a professional is recommended.
