Made for Singapore
invent.sg is the Singapore home of IPGuru.ai: a global platform with a local landing. Brainstorm and build ideas the way Singapore does, in SME workshops, classrooms, labs and startups, with the IPOS route explained for when protection is the goal.
Who invents here
Continuous improvement on the products you already sell: the next version worth building, a process that wastes less, and the call between filing, keeping a trade secret or simply shipping. Improve a product
A far better suggestion box. Sales and front-line staff work up ideas before formal review, and teams brainstorm the problems they see every day. Map team opportunities
Science fairs, capstones, hackathons and class challenges: a testable question, a clear method and a strong showing on the judges' rubric. Check a project idea
Find the riskiest assumption, test it cheaply, map the moat and prepare the story investors will ask for. Map my moat
Decades of field experience is invention fuel. Retraining or between roles, your know-how has destinations. Map what you know
The workbench idea that actually works deserves better than a drawer. Brainstorm it free, then decide what it should become. Assess a prototype
Schools, universities, employers and event organisers can also provide IPGuru to their students, staff or participants, as a class or event cohort or as a workplace tool.
More than one way to launch
Most ideas never need a patent. They need a clearer question, honest feedback and the right document for the next conversation, whether that is with a manager, a judge, a funder, a backer or a buyer.
Why here
Students, SMEs, makers and second-act professionals: this city invents across every kopitiam table, and deserves tools that help turn ideas into useful things.
Ideas that start here can travel: a product for the region, a campaign for the world, or a filing that anchors international routes later.
Singapore consistently ranks among the world's strongest intellectual property systems, with a modern registry and courts that take IP seriously.
If protection is the goal
Patents in Singapore are granted by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). The shape of the journey is simple, even when the paperwork is not.
An application needs a specification: a full description, claims that define the protection, and the drawings that support them. This is what a graded patent project produces, organised into a binder you can file yourself through the IPOS Digital Hub open_in_new, or hand to a patent attorney or agent if you would rather have one file for you.
An examiner searches prior art and tests your claims against it, raising objections in written opinions you respond to. Because Yuki ran a mock examination first, the shape of this stage should not surprise you.
Clear examination and the patent is granted and published, then kept alive with periodic renewal fees for up to twenty years from filing. Protection is a maintained asset, not a one-time stamp.

Everything before the filing itself: the research, the description, the claims drafting, the diagrams, the mock examination, and the organised binder. Whether you file yourself or take it to a professional, you arrive prepared, which is the cheapest way to arrive.
IPOS does not require a patent attorney or agent: you can file yourself through the IPOS Digital Hub open_in_new. A professional is recommended for prosecution and legal advice, not mandatory. We prepare the package; you decide who files it, and your binder names its own gaps honestly either way.
